Jamie Chai Yun Liew

Jamie Chai Yun Liew a writer, professor, lawyer and podcaster. Her bestselling debut novel Dandelion (Arsenal Pulp Press) was runner up in Canada Reads 2025 and was the recipient of the Jim Wong-Chu Emerging Writers Award from the Asian Canadian Writers’ Workshop in 2018.  Her non-fiction book, Ghost Citizens: Decolonial Apparitions of Stateless, Foreign and Wayward Figures in Law (Fernwood Publishing) explores how the colonial and legal condition of statelessness is created and maintained. She is the creator and host of the award-winning podcast Migration Conversations. After spending some formative years in Calgary, Treaty 7 territory, she now lives in Ottawa, Algonquin Anishinaabe territory, with her family.
